*Green 3244 Platesetters, all versions except 2.03 and 2.04:
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
This firmware uses the "release" delay properly. Increasing "aldly release"
will increase the amount of time the plate is allowed to settle on the
registration pins before the leading edge clamps are closed on the plate.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
This release delay also applies to the unload cups in a similiar fashion, where
the longer the delay, the more time it will take for the conveyor belts to turn
on after the unload vacuum has been released.

*Green 3244 Platesetters versions 2.03 and 2.04:
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
In an attempt to optimize the throughput of the machines, this firmware uses
this delay only as a worst case timeout for releasing the vacuum out of the
suction cups. Instead of using a fixed delay to know when to close the leading
edge clamps or when to start the conveyor, the firmware looks at the vacuum
pressure on the suction cups, and when it falls below the set threshold it
believes the plate is off the cups and it's ok to proceed. The release delay is
then used to flag an error if the vacuum level is taking too long to drop.
</text></DescriptionText>
<DescriptionText><text>
In Green 3244 platesetter firmware versions 2.04 and up this problem has
been fixed, and the release delay functions as it does for older green machines
and all thermal machines.

<Notes>
<DescriptionText><text>
It can be used to help diagnose plate skewing problems, where the plate appears
to have been clamped crooked, with the plate not touching one of the
registration pins. If increasing this delay fixes the problem, then there's
likely a slow solenoid valve at fault (i.e. dirt or oil in the solenoid's pilot
valve).
